2026 Turkey Harvest

Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) shows turkey hunters checked 45,475 birds during Missouri’s 2026 regular spring turkey season, April 20-May 10. Young turkey hunters also harvested 5,255 birds over the youth weekend, April 11 and 12, bringing the overall 2026 spring turkey harvest to 50,730. The statewide total turkey harvest last year, 2025, was 51,011.

Locally in Lewis County, hunters during the 2026 youth and regular turkey season harvested 373 turkeys. This is significantly higher than 2025 which say Lewis come in at 286. The breakdown of this year’s harvest for Lewis County is as follows-336 adult gobblers, 2 bearded hens, and 35 juvenile gobblers.  I hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy what nature has to offer and enjoy a safe and successful season
