Lonnie Sparks, 72, of Ewing, MO passed away at 7:20 AM, Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.There will be no services at this time.Arrangements are under the direction of the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing, MO. 

Lonnie was born June 27, 1953, in Kirksville, MO to Erie and Luria Davis Sparks. He married Lena Caldwell Sparks on May 27, 1993 in Quincy, IL. She survives.

Other survivors include his son, Kelly Sparks, daughter, Amber Caldwell, three grandchildren, four brothers, Wiley (Tracy) Sparks, of Maywood MO, Riley (Sandra) Sparks, Larry (Janet) Sparks of Ewing MO, John (Penny) Sparks of Kirksville MO, four sisters, Barbra Houston of Quincy IL, Nancy (Ronnie) Attebery of Ewing MO, Becky (Timothy) Staats of Aledo TX, Beverly (Richard) Shahan of Edina MO and several nieces and nephews.

Lonnie was proceeded in death by his parents, one son, Tracy, 5 brothers, James, Paul, Jerry, Erie, William, two sisters Betty and Bonnie, three sister in laws, Emma, Beverly, Rowena, and one brother-in-law, Robert Staats.

Lonnie worked at Quincy Compressor and later retired from Knaphiede Manufacturing. Lonnie was a friendly and outgoing man who never met a stranger and truly enjoyed visiting with people. He liked spending his time watching westerns and hunting shows, and he took pride in the many things he collected over the years. Lonnie enjoyed a good cup of black coffee and found peace in the outdoors while hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved spending time with his wife and daughter. Lonnie listened to old country favorites, like Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson, along with the rock and roll hits of the 1950s and 1960s.

Lonnie will be remembered for his warm personality, easy conversations, and love for life’s simple pleasures and his family.
