CC’s Coffee Bar Takes on Wildcat Invitational

Canton, MO — CC’s Coffee Bar stepped onto the field and decided to participate in the Wildcat Invitational, where many familiar faces competed. All are coached by Keetan Johnson. For something that started as a joke, it became a show of great support between a local business and a college track team, as Manager Neveah Goings discussed how it came together.

“So, what started as a joke with, you know, obviously we have our location in Canton and the track coach comes down there, and I asked, can I run? And he said no. And I said, “Please,” and somehow, here we are. I quickly learned it was not a joke, and we’ve been prepping for about four days.”

Culver-Stockton Track and Field Coach Hunter Davis discusses how it came together and what it meant to have them be part of the event.

“Yeah, so we have a girl, Kinlie Judd, who works at CC’s, and we’ve built a really good connection because she makes a darn good coffee. So I like to go in there, bother her, and get a coffee in the morning or the afternoon, whenever she’s working. And I’ve got to know the manager of Naveah Goings quite a bit. Her sister works there, and it became one of those things, like, hey, you guys want to sell lotuses or coffee at our home meet? “Sure”. “

“And then it was like, what if we ran in it? I was like, yeah, you can. They’re like, seriously? And I was like, yeah, we can do that. It’ll be fun. It’ll be easy. And I think they had a lot of fun, and like the crowd clearly loved them. I had a lot of people asking, like, Hey, where can we buy one of their team shirts? And I was like, well, that’s actually their jersey. So no, it was really cool to kind of just see the energy in the building. So it was a lot of fun. Like having them, I feel like it brought a smile to everybody’s face. You know, sometimes when you don’t PR, you don’t have the best day, and it can bring a frown down, and you see them run around with a smile on their face. It picked up the vibe for sure.”
