Ernest William Schroeder Obituary
Mr. Ernest William Schroeder, age 81, of Quincy, IL, formerly of Canton, MO, passed away January 3, 2026, at his home in Quincy, IL.
He was born December 18, 1944, in Hazelwood, MO, the son of Ernest and Alice Schroeder. He married Betty Hahn on November 13, 1965, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Charles, MO.
Ernie was confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in St. Louis, MO. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in LaGrange, MO. He attended St. James Lutheran Church in Quincy, IL. He was a follower of Christ.
Ernie retired from the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 1997.
Ernie is survived by his wife Betty; a daughter, Pam Schuering and husband Chris Schuering; a daughter-in-law Christy Fisher; six grandchildren: Sylvie and Luke Schroeder, Anna, Olivia, Daniel, and Issac Schuering; two sisters, Doris (James) Stoehner and Judy (Robert) Teson and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, brother Wayne Schroeder, son Andrew Schroeder, and a nephew Timothy Teson.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 9, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, MO.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 12:00 PM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in LaGrange, MO, with Pastor Matt Riley officiating.
Private burial will be at Forest Grove Cemetery, in Canton, MO.
Pallbearers will be Bob Teson, Mike Stoehner, Steve Stoehner, Rodney Hahn, Mark Kubik, and William Hahn
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the St. James Lutheran School or Blessing Hospice.
