LaVern F. “Bud” Hudnut Obituary
LaVern F. “Bud” Hudnut, 75 of rural Lewistown, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at his home.
The son of Wallace and Avis Lavonne Newman Hudnut was born on September 2, 1950 in Edina, Missouri.
Bud served in the U.S. Army. He loved to walk and hitchhike and see the countryside. He lived a simple life and liked to tell his nieces and nephews stories. He enjoyed visiting cemeteries, collecting pressure cookers and he could tell you what year you were born with a tape measure.
He is survived by his siblings, Connie (Chuck) McGlasson of Vandalia, Mo., Cheryl Waller of Hunnewell, Mo., Paul D. Hudnut of Lewistown, Mo.; niece and nephews, Stephanie Hudnut of Columbia, Mo., Thomas (Mona) East of Coatsburg, Il., Billy (Beth Carr) East of Hunnewell, Mo. and Shane Waller of Hunnewell, Mo.; several great nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and niece, Paula Cottrell.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 5 until 7 PM at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown, Missouri.
Private family graveside services and inurnment will be in the Rutledge Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Helping Hands of Shelby County, Missouri.
