At the October 2025 Canton R-V Board of Education meeting, board members approved the agenda and consent agenda, including September transfers, prior meeting minutes, and safety reports. Principals presented their monthly building updates, and the board accepted the district’s monthly financial report. They also heard from Superintendent Uhlmeyer on the IDEA Self-Assessment File Review and from CPA Paul Richards of Wade Stables, then voted to approve the fiscal year 2025 audit as presented. Under new business, the board adopted several MCE policy and regulation updates, with most passing unanimously but a few on split votes (one 6–1 and one 4–3), reflecting some disagreement among members. They also approved a four-year technology lease agreement with Hewlett-Packard to update district desktop computers and voted to enter into an agreement with University of Missouri Health Care to provide student therapy services for Canton R-V students.
In executive session, the board approved a student-welfare measure allowing a suspended student to receive 100% credit on completed assignments starting on day 11 of the suspension. They also issued extra-duty contracts for elementary and high school tutoring and for coaching positions in baseball, assistant baseball, junior high cheer, and junior high track. All of these actions passed on 7–0 roll-call votes.
