Canton Soccer Keeps Keokuk Silent in 7-0 Victory


Canton, MO — The Canton Lady Tigers picked up their first win over the Keokuk Chiefs on the pitch. Picking up the win 7-0 with a Chayse Uhlmeyer four-goal performance to get the win. As well as a performance from Madilyn Nelson in net, who kept all of Keokuk’s shots out of the net.

The scoring started from Chayse Uhlmeyer at 23:24 as she got one past a diving net minder to score the first goal. Uhlmeyer would follow it up at 11:41, getting a pass from MaryKate McReynolds and shooting it above the goalkeeper’s reach to score the second goal. The Tigers wouldn’t let up, however, with 4:26 remaining, Emma Thrower would get one through to score, making it 3-0 going into the half.

The second half would see Uhlmeyer open the scoring again. At 34:42, with the goalkeeper getting a piece but not enough, Uhlmeyer makes it 4-0. Uhlmeyer followed it up a couple of minutes later at 32:51 as she would make it 5-0 to finish her scoring on the day. The Lady Tigers would continue their offensive pressure. As Thrower would bury her second of the game at 25:38, the final scoring would come at 14:23, where Kadence Taylor would take a foul and be awarded a penalty kick. Taylor would bury the kick to cap the Tigers’ scoring 7-0 to get the win at home.
