Knox County R-1 February 2026 School Board Meeting
*Key notes from the most recently approved Knox County R-1 Board of Education meeting held in February, 2026.
In the open session A citizen communication was noted as a thank-you from the 1976 Knox County Girls Championship Basketball Team.
The Board heard and accepted reports from the superintendent and administrators, including updates on elementary activities and events, MS/HS events and activities, federal programs and curriculum, and district updates on finance, legislation, insurance, and transportation.
The Food Service Report was also presented.
Under new business, the Board adopted the 2026–2027 school calendar, accepted the Program and Services Evaluation Report for Parental Involvement, and adopted policy/regulation updates for Policy 0320 (School Board Election) and Policy 2760 (Foster Care Students).
The regular session then adjourned into closed session for student and personnel matters under RSMo 610.021.
In the closed (executive) session the Board approved the executive session agenda and discussed student matters.
Under personnel, the Board accepted the resignation of Alicia Myers effective May 31, 2026.
The Board also approved employing two individuals as substitute teachers/paras at the appropriate pay rate: Teresa Karhoff-Mason and Shania Rockhold.
