Lewis County Scoop Business Spotlight – Drew Horner – Shelter Insurance, Canton

CANTON, MO – Drew Horner assumed the role of agent at the Shelter Insurance® office in Canton on January 1, 2026, continuing a family tradition of service to local policyholders.

Drew, the son of longtime Shelter agent Richard Horner, now leads the Canton agency while Richard remains in the office as an affiliate agent. Together, they are working to serve customers and the wider Northeast Missouri community.

A native of Lewis County, Drew graduated from Canton High School and Culver-Stockton College. During his college years, he worked alongside Richard in the Canton agency, gaining early, hands-on experience with customer service and agency operations.

For the past decade, Drew has built a career within Shelter Insurance® in the claims division, first as a claims adjuster and later as a claims supervisor. That background has given him extensive knowledge of how claims are handled from start to finish—experience that now helps him guide customers through their coverage choices and claim situations with confidence.

Drew and his wife, Hannah, live in Canton with their two young children, Avery and Austin. The family looks forward to continuing to be an active part of the Canton community while serving local individuals, families, and businesses with their insurance needs.

With Drew’s experience and energy, combined with Richard’s ongoing presence, customers can expect the same strong service they are used to—now with the added benefit of a second familiar face in the office.
