Second Half give Vikings Victory over Wildcats


Canton, Mo. – The Culver-Stockton  Basketball team faced the Missouri Valley Vikings in a Heart of America Conference match-up. The men’s team continues to battle their tough season as they fell to the Vikings 79-65

The first half would see Missouri Valley take a decent lead. However, the Wildcats would stay right there and even claim the lead from the Vikings in a big back-and-forth half. Freshman Kamren Wires would tie the game with 1:39 remaining, 36-36. But the Vikings would then regain the lead and head into the locker room up 40-36.

The second half would see the Vikings get off to an early start to extend the lead, tallying 14 points. To hold a lead they would never relinquish. As the Vikings headed out with the win, 79-65.

The Wildcats fall to 5-21 (2-16) on the season. As they look to close their season at home with two games. Taking on the William Penn Statesmen on Wednesday, February 18th, with a 7:30 tip-off. Followed by Senior night on Saturday, February 21st, taking on the Clarke Pride to close out their season.
