City of La Belle – December 2025 Minutes

BOARD OF ALDERMAN
OPEN BUSINESS MEETING
DECEMBER 8, 2025

The LaBelle Board of Aldermen met in open session on December 8, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at CityHall.  Mayor Zachary Sharpe presided at the meeting. Mayor Sharpe declared that a quorum was present and called the meeting to order.

 
Aldermen Present:  Sam Wilson, Dee Raleigh, Roy Lewis, and Kyle Clay.
 
Alderman Absent: Linda Goodson and Colt Jennings
 
City Personnel Present: Wendy Lewis, City Clerk, Josh Crandall and Wayne Rudd, City
Employees, and Ottie Lewis-Assistant City Clerk/Collector
 
Guests:
 
Others Present: None
 
October and November, 2025 Meeting Minutes:  The minutes are not available at this time.

Financial Reports:  The reports are being transferred from GWORKS to BS and A.
 
Bills for Approval:  Bills for the month were presented and studied.  Alderman Kyle Clay
moved to pay all bills.  Alderman Sam Wilson seconded the motion. The motion passed with a vote of Aye-4, Nay-0.
 
Collector’s Report:  The City Collector’s Report was given.
 
Unfinished Business:
 
Derelict Properties: Not much due to season.

Sewer Project: Treatment facility is ongoing.

Water Project: Moving along well. All 5/8 meters are in; we only have larger meters left to install.

Sidewalks: No movement at this time.

Bike Shop: Still looking for an auctioneer.

New City Shed: It was discussed to use scrap profits for spray insulation this year instead of waiting until next year. After discussion, Alderman Kyle Clay moved to proceed with insulation at this time weather permitting. Alderman Sam Wilson seconded the motion. The motion passed with a vote of Aye-4, Nay-0.

 New Business:
New software update: We are in the middle of training with BS and A. Next meeting we will have good reports.

Resolution April 2026 Election: Mayor Zachary Sharpe read the resolution providing for the April 2026 election. Alderman Kyle Clay moved to adopt the resolution as read. Alderman Dee Raleigh seconded the motion. The resolution was passed with a roll call vote: Alderman Roy Lewis, Aye. Alderman Kyle Clay, Aye. Alderman Sam Wilson, Aye. Alderman Dee Raleigh, Aye. Alderman Colt Jennings and Alderman Linda Goodson were absent.

Mayor’s Report:
 
Mayor Sharpe gave a report on things happening in town. Maintainer is in the shop.

Angel tree has 28 kids in need. 5 are left for adoption. Depot Parade and soup supper is this weekend. Fire Department will be needing snow removal this winter. After discussion, Alderman Kyle Clay moved for the city to blade during snow. Alderman Dee Raleigh seconded the motion. The motion passed with a vote of Aye-4, Nay-0.

Wendy still has 9 days of vacation left with no time left to use it. With the new software she is unable to take any time. Wayne has 3 days left. After discussion, Alderman Sam Wilson moved to pay out whatever vacation is left over at the end of the year. Alderman Roy Lewis seconded the motion. The motion passed with a vote of Aye-4, Nay-0.
 
Motion to adjourn:  Alderman Kyle Clay moved to adjourn the meeting and Alderman Dee Raleigh seconded the motion.  The motion passed with a vote of Aye-4, Nay-0. Meeting adjourned at 7:50p.m.
