Cheryl Lynn Hibbard Obituary

Cheryl Lynn Hibbard, 72, of Canton, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2026 at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton.

Cheryl was born August 26, 1953 in Quincy, Illinois, to Helen and Charles Hibbard, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her lifelong companion, Lonnie Shepherd.

Cheryl spent her younger years working as a caregiver for the elderly, a role that reflected her caring nature. She was also an avid yard-saler who was always on the hunt for a good deal and loved the thrill of finding a treasure to collect.

In her later years, Cheryl made many friends at the Lewis County Nursing Home, where she enjoyed spending time gossiping with the ladies at the lunch table and playing Uno in the activity room. Toward the end of her life, she also discovered a passion for coloring, which brought her joy and creativity in her daily routine.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Lewis County Nursing Home for the kindness, compassion, and care they showed Cheryl during her time there.

Cheryl will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is dearly missed by her daughters, Kristy Lea Durst (Dennis) and Victoria Lynn. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Austin Lynn, Halley Durst, Trever Durst, Brayden Shannon, Grace Durst, Cameron Durst, Jordan Crawford, and great-grandmother to Navy Davis, Messer Davis, Amelia Crawford, and Maverick Crawford.
