Lewistown October 2025 Minutes
October 6, 2025
Mayor Sharpe called the meeting to order with Alderman Lay, O’Neal, and Childress, Treasurer Lori Washburn, Clerk Betsy Kempe, and Troy Ten Eyck. Alderman Handy was absent.
Alderman Childress made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular meeting in September as printed and distributed. Alderman Lay seconded and the motion carried.
Alderman Lay made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s report as printed and distributed. Alderman O’Neal seconded and the motion carried.
Troy advised the council members that a sweep would be nice to have as an attachment on the skid steer. Alderman Childress made a motion to buy a sweep for the skid steer. Alderman O’Neal seconded and the motion carried.
Clerk Betsy Kempe advised that the Election Resolution was complete for the City of Lewistown for the 2026 election. The first filing date of candidacy is December 9th and the last day to file is December 30th. The open positions are as follows:
A. One (1) Mayor for a 2-year term.
B. One (1) Alderman First (South) Ward for a 2-year term.
C. One (1) Alderman Second (North) Ward for a 2-year term.
D. One (1) Alderman Third (South) Ward for a 1-year unexpired term.
Alderman Childress made a motion to adopt the Election Resolution. Alderman Lay seconded and the motion carried.
The council directed to have the Clerk put the current shelter house out for bids to purchase.
The council directed that a nuisance letter needs to be sent to Samantha Klocke and Daniel & Katie Franklin.
Being no further business come before the meeting, motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Childress and seconded by Alderman O’Neal. Motion carried and the meeting was adjourned.
