Lewistown December 2025 Minutes
December 1, 2025
Mayor Sharpe called the meeting to order with Alderman Lay, O’Neal, and Childress, Treasurer Lori Washburn, Clerk Betsy Kempe, Collector Rachel McKenzie, and Troy Ten Eyck. Alderman Handy was absent.
Alderman Childress made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular meeting in November as printed and distributed. Alderman Lay seconded and the motion carried.
Alderman Lay made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s report as printed and distributed. Alderman.
O’Neal seconded and the motion carried.
Collector Rachel McKenzie advised that taxes are starting to come in and are being collected.
Troy advised the council that there will be a water tower inspection this spring.
The council reviewed the updated Water/Sewer Ordinance that have the new rates for connection/meter charges. The council agreed to make some revisions. A new copy will be provided at the next meeting.

There have been no bids on the shelter house so the council has decided to extend it until next month to see if any bids come in.
Mayor Sharpe advised the council that there is now WiFi in the park for the public to use.
The Farris property can be purchased at the next tax sale in 2026.
Alderman Lay made a motion to approve $300 Christmas bonuses and a 3% raise for city employees.
Alderman O’Neal seconded and the motion carried.
The council directed that a nuisance letter needs to be sent to Terry Cramsey.
Being no further business come before the meeting, motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Childress and seconded by Alderman O’Neal. Motion carried and the meeting was adjourned.
