99th Annual Monroe City Tournament ends

From December 4th to the 9th the 99th Annual Monroe City Varsity Tournament took place as the result came out.

Highland Lady Cougars took third with impressive an impressive victory over Louisiana 37-36 in buzzer beater fashion. Before falling to Palmyra 58-42 to be sent to the third place bracket. They would face off against the hosts Monroe City winning 46-43 taking third in the tournament.

Meanwhile the Highland Cougars on the boys side would fall to big to South Shelby 55-26. However they would rebound as they battled against Paris Coyotes winning 54-43. They would battle against Marion County falling 54-42 taking 6th in the tournament.

The Cougars will look to end the 2023 campaign strong as they look forward to the 2024 calendar.
