Lady Tigers Honor Seniors; Fall to (RV) Bearcats

Canton, MO – The Canton Tigers took on the Northeast (Cairo) Bearcats as they celebrated Senior Night. 12 total seniors were celebrated for their work and accomplishments in athletics, 4 of the 12 being members of the Girls Basketball team.

However, the Lady Tigers would fall to the Bearcats 68-51. The Bearcats opened the first quarter, led by Senior Olivia Cross, with a 20-point performance to give the Bearcats a 25-12 lead. However, the Tigers would adjust and hold the Bearcats to only 7, but were held to 7 themselves, going into halftime down 32-19.

The Bearcats would return to their scoring ways, putting up another 20 points, with the Lady Tigers adding 14. Heading to the fourth quarter, the Bearcats lead 52-33. The Lady Tigers would score a game high 18; however, the Lady Bear Cats would score 16 to keep ahead and leave with a 68-51 victory.​

The Lady Tigers take on the Scotland County Tigers in a District match on January 30th. Followed with a week in the LaPlata Tournament where the Lady Tigers are seeded #1 and take on #8 Atlanta on Tuesday February 3rd.

During Halftime of the boys’ game, 4 Canton Lady Tigers seniors were honored for their accomplishments on the court. Those seniors are Kadence Taylor, Sadie Hinton,  Brenna Brewer, and MaryKate McReynolds.
