Bill Hinkle Obituary

Billy D. Hinkle age 90 of Lewistown, MO, passed away Monday December 22, 2025 at his home in Lewistown, MO.
Bill was born September 24, 1935 in Canton, Missouri. The son of the late Harold and Alice (Hildmann) Hinkle. On April 29, 1956 he married his best friend Okle Conover in Lewistown, MO. She preceded him in death on December 30, 2021.
Bill graduated from Lewistown High School. Bill, along with his late wife Okle, ran the family dairy farm for many years. Bill also worked for Heetco until his retirement.
Bill enjoyed spending time with his family. A favorite pastime over the years was to watch his children’s, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s sports events. He was an avid follower of the local high school teams and always looked forward to the college sports seasons. Bill enjoyed fishing and hunting coon, deer and turkey on his farm for many years.
He was a member of Park United Methodist Church and the Monticello Masonic Lodge. Earlier years he was active in the Highland Booster Club, Lewistown Cemetery Board, the Lewis Co Fair and local 4-H.
He is survived by five children, Doug Hinkle of Elsberry MO., Jim (Kim) Hinkle of Knox City MO., Terry (Shelle) Hinkle of Lewistown MO., Michelle (Phil) Murfin of Lewistown MO., and Richard (Leisa) Hinkle of Taylor MO. Fourteen Grandchildren, Billie (Andy) Harshberger, Chris Hinkle, David (Sarah) Hinkle, Kathleen (Tyler) Stevens, Jennifer Hinkle, Ryan (Micala) Hinkle, Amanda (Justin) Roberts, Casey (Ryan) Mittelberg, Samantha (Ethan) Allen, Jessica (Nate) Seiler, Emilee (Colt) Doyle, Austin (Chloe) Hinkle, Katee (Tyler) Niemann, Cooper Hinkle. Twenty Great Grandchildren Emma and Sawyer Harshberger, Parker and Ollie Hinkle, Elaine and Roland Hinkle, Charli and Raef Roberts, Emery Mittelberg, Nash, Jovi, Huck and Navi Allen, Samuel, Connor and Marcus Seiler, Oaklee and Piper Doyle, Naomi and Natasha Niemann. Two sisters Opal Richarson, Pat (Terry) Bell. Two sister in-laws Shirley Hinkle and Deanie Hinkle. Along with many loved nephews and nieces.
Bill now joins his wife, Okle Hinkle, his parents, two brothers Shorty (Leroy) and Dick Hinkle, brother-in-law and sister-in-law David (Ruby) Conover, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jonet (Carl) Specht, a brother-in-law John Richardson, Father and Mother-in-law Arthur and Dessie Conover, a niece Carol Bailey, a nephew Carl Specht and a great grandson Hawk Doyle.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown, Missouri with Rev. Rusty Schultz officiating. Burial will be in the Lewistown Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 4 until 7 PM at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown.
Memorials may be made to the Park United Methodist Church or the Lewistown Cemetery Association.
