Canton R-V Fire Protection District – March, 2026 Meeting Minutes
CANTON, MO- *Key notes from the most recently approved R-V Fire Protection District Board meeting held on March 11, 2026
In old business, the board approved purchasing an AED from Zoll for $1,700. The board also approved purchasing items such as lights and chains using $2,000 from an MFA grant, with the remaining balance to be paid by the district.
In new business, the board approved providing meals for training at the R-4 department.
The board also approved two firefighter applications (Zach Geisendorfer and Andy McDowell) and accepted the resignation of Hunter Yates. The minutes note the district needs to establish a protocol for junior firefighters, including limitations and a non-paid position.
Fire chief reports were presented. The board approved exchanging 19 Motorola pagers for 33 desktop chargers.
Bids for the Monticello station project were opened, but no action was taken. The meeting adjourned, and the next meeting is scheduled for April 8, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Monticello station.
