City of La Belle – February 2026 Minutes
*Key notes from the most recently approved City of LaBelle Board of Aldermen meeting held on February 9, 2026.
Mark Starr with Republic Services attended to discuss the city’s contract that is set to end in April and the option to extend the contract instead of putting it out for bids. The board noted this will be discussed further at a later date.
Because of sickness in the office, the board had several sets of minutes that needed approval. The aldermen approved all by unanimous vote.

In unfinished business, the board discussed derelict properties and indicated they plan to begin looking at properties needing attention.
The sewer treatment facility project was reported as ongoing.
The board also discussed the Craig Myers sewer project and voted for the city to pay a portion not to exceed $2,000.
The water project was reported as moving along well, and the board approved an amendment contract with Benton Engineering for the mayor and city clerk to sign, with the city payout not to exceed $3,500.
Sidewalks were also discussed, with the city reporting preliminary plan approval and hopes to get bids out in April.
For the bike shop, the city met with Scotty’s Auction Service and is working toward a summer auction; the board voted to proceed with Scotty’s and execute the contract after attorney review.
Updates were also given on the new shed, noting spray insulation has been completed and lights and outlets are installed.
Under new business, the board discussed hiring and noted that preliminary interviews were conducted before the meeting. After reviewing applications, the board scheduled round-two interviews for Eric Stewart and Roger Goings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13.

The board also accepted Alderman Colt Jennings’ resignation effective February 28, 2026, as he is moving to Clark County.
