The LaBelle Board of Aldermen met in open session at City Hall with Mayor Zachary Sharpe and all six aldermen present, confirming a full quorum. Monthly bills were reviewed and approved unanimously, and the City Collector’s report was given, but no monthly financial report or water usage report was presented at this meeting.

Under unfinished business, there were no new updates on derelict properties, the sewer project, sidewalks, or the bike shop. On the water project, the board noted that contractor Ray is expected back next week to finish work, and the city still needs to order 2-inch pipe for The Locker and The Manor. Work on the new city shed continues, with a significant amount of wiring already completed and spray foam installation expected to begin soon.

In new business, it was reported that South Ward Alderman Colt Jennings is in the process of moving out of LaBelle, which will create a vacancy on the board. Mayor Sharpe also shared that the city is preparing for the new budget year, and that LaBelle currently has openings for a full-time field employee and a part-time office assistant.

The board then went into closed session under Missouri statute 610.021(3) to discuss personnel matters related to hiring, firing, discipline, or promotion of specific employees, and later returned to open session.
