Lee County Speedway Independence Photos; Journalist Notebook
Donnelson, Iowa — Lee County Speedway was a scorcher on my first visit. I’ve finally started to get the settings on my camera down, but I still feel a little rusty. Still, I got right back in the swing of things. A good car count and the Fourth of July Weekend made for a fun night of racing.
There were some good-looking cars on the night, but my favorite design had to be John Oliver Jr.’s Pink Panther car. I love unique designs, especially when iconic characters make an appearance on the track.
I didn’t think we were gonna get through the two SportMod heats. The two heats would see five of the 11 cars DNF. Quite a few cautions for two heats.
