Lewis County Industrial Authority Meeting
3/16/2026 – *Key notes from the most recently approved Industrial Development Authority of Lewis County meeting held on December 9, 2025
The Lewis County IDA met at 11:00 a.m. with a quorum present and President Steve Ayers calling the meeting to order. Minutes from the September 9, 2025 meeting were approved on a 10–0 vote. The board also accepted the treasurer’s financial reports for September through November 2025 (transaction list, profit and loss, and balance sheet) along with the third-quarter 2025 tipping fee report, also approved 10–0. There was no old business and no closed session.
Under new business, Director Ralph Martin shared an update from the November Missouri Northeast Meeting involving Liberty Utilities. Board members were told that a running refund from Panhandle to Liberty Utilities for purchased natural gas is expected to expire in December 2025, and that some areas—including Northeast Missouri counties—could see natural gas rate increases as high as 38%. The board also reviewed printed meeting-date packets for 2026.
With no further business, the board voted to adjourn. The next IDA meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. in which those minutes won’t be approved until the next quarterly meeting.
