Mallett, Straus, Tucker, Younce to Represent Wildcats at NAIA Nationals


Canton, MO – Four student-athletes from Culver-Stockton College have qualified for the NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Meet, set to take place May 21–23 at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN.

DREW MALLETT

Junior Drew Mallett, a Highland High School alumnus from La Grange, MO, qualified in the decathlon with 6,391 points.
He will compete in ten events across two days:

  • Day 1: 100-meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, and 400-meter dash
  • Day 2: 110-meter hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, and 1500-meter run

KENNY TUCKER

Senior Kenny Tucker, from Carrizo Springs, Texas, will compete in the 5,000-meter race walk, qualifying with a time of 26:18.77.
Tucker is currently ranked 18th in the country and transferred to Culver-Stockton after the closure of Iowa Wesleyan University.

DELANEY STRAUS

Junior Delaney Straus, a Marion County Mustang alum from Philadelphia, MO, will compete in both the heptathlon and the 400-meter hurdles.

  • She ranks 11th nationally in the heptathlon with 4,510 points
  • Her 400m hurdles time of 1:02.56 places her 18th in the nation
    Her heptathlon events are split over two days:
  • Day 1: 100m hurdles, high jump, and shot put
  • Day 2: long jump, javelin, and 800-meter run

FAITH YOUNCE

Senior Faith Younce, a Bonney Lake, WA native, also transferred from Iowa Wesleyan. She will compete in the 5,000-meter race walk, where she is currently ranked 10th in the country with a qualifying time of 27:44.34.
