Three Lewis County Teams will Play for Titles
The Champions are Set
The Canton Tigers will take on the Schuyler County Rams for the Class 2 District 6 Boys Title. The Highland Lady Cougars will face the South Shelby LadyBirds for the Class 3 District 6 Championship, while the Canton Lady Tigers will play the Milan Wildcats for the Class 2 District 6 Title.
All three Lewis County teams will look for their chance to advance to the state tournament. If successful, they will face the winner of District 5 in their respective class.
Canton Tigers

The Canton Tigers secured their spot in the championship by defeating the Scotland County Tigers 67-59. Preston Brewer put on a stellar performance, leading the way with 30 points. Kaden Oliver contributed 15 points, while Tyler Frazier added 10 points. They will face the #2 seed Schuyler County Rams, who defeated the Putnam County Midgets 60-51. The championship game is scheduled for Friday, February 28th, at 6:00 P.M.
Highland Lady Cougars

Over at Highland High School, the Lady Cougars took care of business, defeating the Monroe City Panthers for the fourth time this season 40-25. Addy Abell led the scoring with 22 points, followed by Kierra Rothweiler with 12 points, Emma Berry with 4, and Allie Lundberg with 2. They will now face the South Shelby LadyBirds, who defeated the Palmyra Panthers 56-38, for the district championship. That game is set for Saturday, March 1st, at 2:00 P.M. The last time Highland and South Shelby met, the Cougars came away with a 38-35 victory.
Canton Lady Tigers

Lastly, the Canton Lady Tigers secured a 62-43 win over the Scotland County Tigers. Macy Glasgow led the team with 23 points, while Kierra Oliver added 18. They will now face the #1 seed Milan Lady Wildcats, who defeated the Putnam County Midgets 59-24. That game is also scheduled for Saturday, March 1st, at 2:00 P.M.
