The Palmyra City Council convened on February 5, 2026, with Mayor Alan R. Adrian presiding. During the closed session, the council unanimously approved authorizing Mayor Adrian to enter into a contract with Peter Dames to perform the duties of electrical manager at a rate of $75 per hour through the end of April.
During the public portion of the meeting, all members present voted to approve the agenda and consent agenda, which included the minutes from the January 29 meeting, bills for approval, and invoices from Klingner & Associates for DNR-SW System Improvements and the MoDOT TAP Grant. Council Member Earl Meyers reported receiving quotes for the plaster repair and repaint of City Hall and for replacing the fence at the Recycle Center.
Council Member Brock Fahy informed the council that representatives from Brownfield would be in town on February 23 to review properties eligible for grant funding through the Marion-Ralls Regional Port Authority. Fahy also stated that he and Mayor Adrian planned to attend the MML Legislative Conference in the coming weeks. He noted that a bid from Heimer Construction for remodeling the Sesquicentennial Building’s kitchen would be placed on the February 19 agenda for acceptance, but current funding is not sufficient to complete the entire project at once.
Mayor Adrian reported on attending a recent TDD meeting, which marked the start of a campaign to educate the community about transportation needs and the upcoming ballot vote on the TDD. The meeting concluded with the council moving into closed session at 7:23 p.m. and adjourning at 8:00 p.m.
