Robert L. “Bob” Washburn Obituary


Robert L. “Bob” Washburn, 70 of LaBelle, Missouri passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 6:40 AM at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

The son of Forrest Lee and Evelyn Nellie (Clifton) Washburn was born on June 26, 1955 at Quincy, Illinois.

He was united in marriage to Dorothea Cottrell on July 3, 2008 at LaBelle, Missouri.

Bob was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lewistown and the LaBelle Masonic Lodge #222 A.F. & A.M.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to auctions, buying and selling guns, farming and he loved hand fishing.  He also enjoyed playing cards and celebrating the 4th of July which was his favorite holiday.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothea Washburn of LaBelle, Mo.; children, Heather (Jesse) Buss of LaBelle, Mo., Robert Shane Washburn (Harley Wright) of LaBelle, Mo., Tamara Washburn (Jeff Ray) of Ewing, Mo, Jeremy (Chantell) Rayl Ashland, Mo., Temothy (Chris) Fleischer of St. Stephens Church, Va.; two sisters, Judy (Steve) Hooley of Hannibal, Mo. and Tena (Rick) Fugate of Queen City, Mo.; a brother, Paul “Wally” (Lori) Washburn of Lewistown, Mo.; nineteen grandchildren, Gage Rudd, Mavrick Montgomery, Declan Montgomery, Noah Washburn, Landri Washburn, Ezzrick Wright, Mason Hudnut, Kash Washburn, Aiden Ray, Jenna Ray, Adalee Ray, Everleigh Ray, Whitney Buss, Paxton Buss, McKinley Buss, Nate Matesic, Adrian Sparks, Gage Sparks and Elizabeth Fleischer; two great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Anthony Lee Washburn, a brother, Hal Snowbarger, a brother-in-law, Darrell Cottrell and Bonnie Brown.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 3 until 6 PM at the Coder Funeral Home in LaBelle, Missouri.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
