Cougars Drop Twin Ball in Palmyra Cluster

Palmyra, MO — The Highland Cougars Baseball team headed down to Palmyra to participate in the annual Palmyra Cluster. Taking on the Palmyra Panthers in the first game and the Marceline Tigers in the second game.

The Cougars took on the Clarence Cannon Conference Co-Champions, the Panthers. Falling to the Panthers 16-0 in three innings, recording no hits in the game as Palmyra would pick up another win for their upcoming District Tournament.

Following that, the Cougars would take on the Marceline Tigers. Falling to the Tigers 13-3 in 5 innings, with the Tigers walking off the game in the bottom of the 5th scoring six runs to get the win. The Cougars would record four hits. Freshman Heath Feldkamp would pitch 4.1 innings and record 7 strikeouts in the game.

The Cougars fall to 3-13 on the season. As they now turn to Monday’s game, where the Cougars will finish their home stand on the season, taking on their cross-county rivals in the Canton Tigers at Highland High School.
