MONTICELLO, MO– *Key notes from the most recently approved Lewis County Commission meeting held on April 27, 2026:
Commissioner Murphy signed Progress Invoice #27 for the Orange Street Bridge. Details in the approved minutes attached below.
The minutes note attendance at conferences by county offices and that the commission and clerk hosted the commissioner/clerk meeting on April 21 in Canton at the Caldwell Building.
In other business, Circuit Clerk George spoke with the commission about removing items from the courtroom in the annex.
The commission discussed invoices tied to the commissioner/clerk meeting and who still owed money.
The cyber security insurance application was noted as being with Devon McClain to complete the IT portion.
The commission also set a bid opening for grill guards for the sheriff’s office for May 11, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
Sheriff Parrish discussed plumbing issues at the jail and advised the commission that he expects to exceed some line items while addressing plumbing problems. He also reported the sheriff’s office is down three vehicles and provided updates, including that the 2016 Dodge does not run and needs a motor, and that Sparks Repair provided an estimate for a remanufactured motor at $7,230.69 with a four-year warranty. The minutes state the commission agreed it was an emergency and for Sparks Repair to order the motor and install it.
The minutes also note a 2025 Tahoe was towed to Poage’s to be checked under warranty and that a Durango was towed to Roberts to be fixed after a battery issue.
