State Bound; Bradi Lahr Takes Third at Sectionals
Stanford, Ill. – The Quincy Notre Dame senior wrestler Bradi Lahr is heading to state after a third-place finish at sectionals hosted at Olympia High School in Stanford, Ill. Lahr started the tournament as the #1 seed with a first-round bye. On Friday, Lahr would face off with Jovonis Lunford of Springfield (Sacred Heart-Griffin), winning the bout by pinfall in the third period after gaining 10 points.
Lahr continued the bracket on Saturday, taking on Huddson Babb of Gibson City, falling to Babb in a close 8-6 decision. Sending Lahr to the consolation bracket with one more chance to make state. Lahr would take on Alex Carrier of Canton, winning by a 3-0 decision. In the 3rd Place Match, Lahr would take on Kaden Collins of Olympia. Lahr would win the match by fall to win third place and earn a spot at state.
The Illinois Class 1A State Wrestling Tournament will take place on February 19-21 at the University of Illinois, State Farm Center, in Champaign, Illinois.
