THEY’RE BACK: Lady Cougars Capture District Title, Merida Qualifies for State
Chillicothe, MO – The Class 1 District 3 Girls Golf Tournament has concluded, and the Highland Lady Cougars and Canton’s Raelyn Merida are going back to State. The Lady Cougars won as a team with a score of 352. South Shelby took second with a 391 score.
Ava Hudson would claim the district title with a score of 80. Isabelle Potts of Penney claimed second with an 81. Morgan Crist took third, shooting 84. All Cougars would finish in the top twenty, qualifying as a team and as individuals. Returning to the State after last year’s trip
Canton would finish 13th as a team with a score of 490. Raelyn Merida would finish in 15th, scoring a 100 to qualify for State. Returning to the State for the second year in a row
The Cougars and Merida will compete in the Class 1 State Tournament on October 20th-21st at the Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton, MO.
