TRIPLE DIGITS; Wildcats Beat Trojans 110-59


Canton, MO – The Women’s Basketball team returned to action after hosting the Atrium Classic by facing the Hannibal-LaGrange Trojans. The Wildcats dominated the game, winning 110-59 while setting a new school record with 15 three-pointers. Avery Oetting scored 28 points, just two shy of her career high, going 8-for-12 from beyond the arc and a perfect 4-for-4 at the free-throw line.

Oetting opened the scoring for the Wildcats with a three-pointer that marked the start of the record-setting performance. The Wildcats quickly put up 10 points before the Trojans responded. By the end of the first quarter, the Wildcats held a commanding lead of 26-8.

Continuing their dominance, the Wildcats scored an additional 27 points in the second quarter, with Nevaiah Bell-Tenner contributing 11 points. Meanwhile, the Trojans managed 18 points, thanks to Ivy Lesley’s 14 points. At halftime, the Wildcats led 56-26.

The third quarter saw the Wildcats score a game-high 36 points, including five three-pointers, which extended their lead to 89-45 going into the fourth quarter. The Wildcats surpassed the 100-point mark with a layup from Keyara Baerga-Plumey, finishing the game with a decisive 110-59 victory.

With this win, the Wildcats improved their overall record to 2-1 for the season. They will enjoy a few days of rest before hosting the University Health Sciences and Pharmaceuticals Eutectics on Wednesday, November 5th.
