State Track and Field Results; Lewis County Athletes Take on the State


Jefferson City, MO — In the State Capital of Missouri, Track Athletes from across the state gather for the Missouri State High School Athletic Association’s Class 1-3 Track and Field Meet. As Multiple Athletes from Lewis County head down to compete for the many titles up for grabs.

DAY 1

Class 2 Girls High Jump Finals

Sophomore Ali Lundberg competed in the Class 2 Girls High Jump. Finishing solely in sixth place with a height of 1.55 meters. Hitting this mark on her third attempt.

Class 2 Girls Javelin Throw Finals

Senior Bailie Crist competed for the Class 2 Girls javelin throw. Qualifying for the finals with her first throw of 38.08. In the Finals on her final throw, Bailie Crist would throw a personal best of 38.26 to finish in fifth place in the state and set a new school record to end her high school athletic career.

Girls Cass 2 Pole Vault Finals

Eva Logsdon would compete in the pole vault. The Junior would fall just shy of a podium spot, finishing ninth with a height of 2.90 meters.

Class 2 Boys 100 M Dash Prelims

Senior Chris Gaus ran the 100m dash with a time of 11.34 seconds in the seventh lane. Finishing 12th in the standings. Unfortunately, missing the qualifying mark for the finals on day two. But Gaus will compete in the Class 2 Long Jump.

Class 2 Girls 1600m Race Finals

Chevie Sharpe looked to reclaim her crown in the 1600-meter race. Finishing in first last season. Her best lap came in the first one with a time of 1:10.43. She would finish the race in 5:08.55, taking third place and setting a new school record.

Class 2 Boys 400m Dash Prelims

Junior Porter Peters looked to qualify for the finals in the 400m dash. Falling in 13th place with a time of 51.67.

Class 2 Girls 800m Dash Finals

Senior Chevie Sharpe competed in the 800m dash finals. Finishing fourth with a time of 2:19.54 and setting a new school record.

Class 2 Boys 4x400m Relay Prelims

The Highland 4x400m Relay team of Tyler Seals, Cooper Hinton, Briscoe Post, and Porter Peters looked to qualify for the day two finals. Finishing their heat race in fourth with a time of 3:32.41. But finished 9th overall, missing the qualifying mark.

Class 2 Girls 4x400m Relay Prelims

The Highland 4x400m Relay team of Hannah Ritterbusch, Alayna Logsdon, Eva Logsdon, and Chevie Sharpe competed to qualify for the day two finals. Highland would secure a third-place finish in the second race and qualifying with a time of 4:10.05. They will compete in the Finals on day two at 4:40 P.M.

DAY 2

Class 1 Boys High Jump Finals

Canton’s Leighton Logsdon competed in the High Jump. Competing with 16 athletes for a chance to place. Logsdon would succeed on his third jump on the second and third marks to survive and place eighth with a height of 1.85 meters.

Class 2 Boys Long Jump Finals

Senior Chris Gaus finished his high school athletic career in the Long Jump. Finishing in 11th in the state with a distance of 6.22m.

Class 2 Girls 4x400m Relay Finals

The Highland Girls Relay team finished their season with a strong fourth place finish with a time of 4:08.29. With Chevie Sharpe being the anchor runner and finishing her high school career with three podium placements over the weeked.

The Lady Cougars finished ninth in the Team Scores. With a final team score of 23.
