Youth Wrestlers Compete at 2025 Missouri USA Folkstyle State Championship


Members of the Lewis County Youth Wrestling Club and Palmyra Youth Wrestling Club participated in the 2025 Missouri USA Folkstyle State Championship, held Friday, March 7 through Sunday, March 9. Lewis County sent six wrestlers, while Palmyra brought 27 competitors, including four from Lewis County.

Kinzlen Gozalkowski competed in the 8U Girls 45 class on Friday. She went 0-2 on the day. Her first match ended in a loss by fall to Kaisynn Keefhaver, who eventually placed third. In her second match, Gozalkowski fell to Khloe Schweitzer.

Karcyn Lay participated in the 8U Girls 50 class. In her first match, she lost by pin to Analeigh Luntsford. In the consolation bracket, Lay earned a 6-5 decision victory over Tinley Williams, scoring two takedowns. Her day ended with a loss by pin to Sydney House of Wentzville.

Joslynn Jett competed in the 12U 195 bracket. She opened with a loss to Lila Masten of Oak Grove, who went on to win the championship. Jett advanced to the third-place match via medical forfeit and secured a pinfall victory over Hope Waller of Fulton at 1:40, earning third place.

Audralynn Morlang wrestled in the 14U Girls 140 bracket. She lost her opening match by fall to Heaven Graham of Nixa at 0:41. In the consolation round, Morlang picked up a pinfall victory over Emma Beckemeier of Harrisonville before falling to Jordyn Seely-Manual of Wentzville.

River Yates competed in the 8U Boys 45 class. He started strong with a dominant 22-5 technical fall win over Connor Moore. In the second round, Yates was pinned by Justice Carnes. In the consolation bracket, he won a 15-10 decision over James Garnett before ending his day with a loss by pin to Jacob Walker.

Dawson Myers participated in the 8U Boys 100 class. He opened with a pin over James Conrad but then lost to eventual second-place finisher Garren McGuire of Butler. Myers’ tournament ended with a 6-0 decision loss to Stetson Smith of South Callaway in the consolation round.

Palmyra Youth Wrestling

Kyleigh Wiskirchen competed in the 12U Girls 105 bracket. She started with a pinfall win over Elli Dover of Southern Boone. After a loss to Jaylee Keller, Wiskirchen earned three consecutive pinfall victories over Lailene Sommers, Khloe Ash, and Olivia Gleason. Her day ended with a loss to Ellyana Brewer.

Brynlea Lahr aimed to capture her third state title in the 12U Girls 115 bracket. She opened with a pinfall win over Londyn Leach of the Fox Jr. Warriors at 0:23, followed by a decision victory over Tatyauna Gonzalez of Carthage. Lahr pinned Marley Plymell at 3:00 and secured her third title by pinning Hayden Collins, earning 10 team points.

Zoey Eisenberg competed in the 14U Girls 115 bracket. She started with pinfall wins over Zoie Bailey of Harrisonville (2:40) and Kailey Smith of Nevada Tiger Pit Wrestling (3:18). After a loss by pin to Makaleigh Hahn of Thoroughbred Wrestling, Eisenberg entered the consolation bracket, where she pinned Harper Mahan of Centralia (1:40) and defeated Kinley Webster of Oak Grove. She then fell to Lillian Brotherton of Carrollton, sending her to the fifth-place match. In a rematch with Hahn, Eisenberg finished sixth after a technical fall loss.

Easton Ammer competed in the 12U Boys 140 bracket. He opened with a loss by fall to Cade Best of Richmond Youth Wrestling (1:41), then defeated Kaelan Henderson of Cameron in a 15-4 majority decision. Ammer’s tournament ended with a loss by fall to Jeffer Jones of Webb City at 1:02.

The wrestling season has come to an end, bringing excitement and hope for what next year may hold.
