MONTICELLO, MO- *Key notes from the most recently approved Lewis County Commission meeting held on April 13, 2026:
A group including MoDOT staff, NEMO RPC, the IDA, and county officials met to discuss continued safety procedures and to present Lewis County with the “Show Me Zero” reward for 2025 having no vehicle fatalities. MoDOT staff also discussed the 2026 pavement plan with the commission.
HMN Engineering’s Shawn Harding met with the commission to discuss the annex RFQ.
The commission discussed mowing bids after the selected bidder backed out due to health issues, and the commission contacted the only other bidder to see if they would take on the mowing work.
The minutes state the commission plans to accept Howe and Company LLC’s RFQ for the annex building remodel after completing the RFQ process, noting two RFQs were received (Howe and MECO).
Sheriff Parrish discussed the deputy supplement grant that provides $3,000 per eligible deputy (deputies making under $70,000). Sheriff Parrish asked for permission to electronically sign and approve the grant, and the commission approved allowing him to sign up for it.
The minutes also note Sheriff Parrish said they will continue to patrol and cover Canton, and that he has talked to the LaGrange Police Department and the State Patrol.
