Bringer and Shaffer Qualify for State; Canton Competes in Golf Districts
Moberly, MO — The Canton Tigers Golf Team competed in the Class 1 District 2 Golfing Tournament. The Tigers finished third in the tournament, with an overall score of 347. Behind Glasgow with a 320 and South Shelby with a 333. They just missed their chance to send their team back to the state.
But Sophomore Noah Bringer and Freshman Landon Shaffer would finish in the top 20 to qualify for state as individuals. Bringer, shooting a 79 overall, would finish in fourth, while Shaffer would finish in 18th with an overall of 86.
Senior Connor Welker would finish 28th with a score of 90. Sophomore Marshall Farr would finish in 33rd with a 92. And Senior Drew Gottman would finish in 44th with a score of 97.
Bringer and Shaffer will compete in the Class 1 State Tournament on May 18-19 at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, MO.
