City of LaGrange – October 9th, 2023 Minutes

Pledge of Allegiance

Mayor Bob Corbin called the meeting to order.

Roll Call: Councilmember Robyn Cottrell present, Councilmember James Dade present, Councilmember Carol Henze present, Councilmember Gail Kindhart present, Councilmember Barry Pfister absent, and Councilmember Don Zahn present.

City Employees/Visitors: City Administrator John Roach present, City Clerk Kim Schneider present, City Attorney Jeff Curl present, Wastewater Superintendent Mike Henderson present,
Also present: Shanell Hardin

Public Comments: Shanell Hardin addressed the Council regarding open burning. Shanell is concerned about people burning and the times they are burning. Council agreed to look at our current open burning ordinance and see if any times are listed and address the situation.

Motion by Councilmember Kindhart to approve the consent agenda, motion second by Councilmember Henze, motion carried 5 yes, 1 absent.

CITY ENGINEER REPORT – Mark submitted a report.

MAYOR’S REPORT – Shelter house at Riverfront is complete and Mayor is having a sign made that it was donated by the LA River Rats.

CITY CLERK’S REPORT – Nothing

CITY ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT
Chicken Ordinance – City Council was given a draft of a potential Chicken Ordinance. After discussion of the proposed ordinance, Jeff will go back and add and change a few things and submit at next meeting 10/23/23.

Updates – No Closed Session Necessary.

Adjournment: With nothing further before the Council, Councilmember Zahn made the motion to adjourn at 6:31 p.m., motion second by Councilmember Henze, motion carried 5 yes, 1 absent.
