December 11th, 2023 Lewis County Commission Minutes

December 11, 2023 

Commission met pursuant to order of adjournment on December 4, 2023, with Presiding Commissioner Wayne Murphy Jr., Associate Commissioners Travis Fleer, and Deanne Whiston present. When and where the following proceedings were had to wit: Commissioner Murphy called the meeting to order: 

Minutes: Commissioner Murphy made a motion to approve minutes for December 4, 2023. Commissioner Fleer agreed. Approved 2-0. 

Bills: Commissioner Whiston motioned to approve the payments of warrants #31639-31654 from General Revenue, warrants #22037-22044 from Road & Bridge, warrants #5719 from the Assessment, warrants #20803-20808 from L.E.O.F, and warrants # from Co Farm. Commissioner Fleer seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed. Approved 3-0. 

Road & Bridge: Road and Bridge Supervisor Larry Janes and Secretary Colclough were present. Took the landscape out around the courthouse 

Hauled spot rock- # 490, 471, 405 

Checked roads for spot rock needs 

05 International’s batteries were dead- replaced the batteries and put a master switch on it 

Took the box and welder off of the 2013 Ford 

Bladed the east end of #550 and fixed holes on the west end 

# 228 & 233 bladed 

Replaced batteries in the 2007 CAT Grader 

Groomed- #404, 304, 308, 314, 333, 316, 335, 318, 347, 356, 359, 381, 342, 435, 433, 508, 359, 405, 402, 403, 420, 425, 424 

Roy mowed 433 & 316 

Jake Hedges with LaGrange Special asked if the county could mow #554 and #580 

2018 Ford and 2010 Mack were washed and cleaned 

Brian Jennigs asked about part-time work and when he would be working 

Purple Wave is coming Tuesday to take pictures of the 1997 Ford, snow plow, sander and the 1975 loader 

Other Business: Treasurer Roberson wrote check #1163 a reissued jury check and checks #3519-3533 Public entity checks 

Kings Foundation will be here the 18th-22nd which is a week later than originally stated 

Billy Bellomy with Washington National- he has cancer, heart and accidental plans- return of premiums- the county does not pay- employee elected- would like to come in and meet with the employees to see if interested- will call after the first of the year 

Adjourn: Motion to adjourn to Monday, December 18, 2023, by Commissioner Fleer, Commissioner Murphy seconded; Commissioner Whiston agreed, passed 3-0.
