February 17th, 2026 – Lewis County Commission

*Key notes from the most recently approved Lewis County Commission meeting on February 17, 2026:

Road & Bridge Supervisor Drew Frese and Secretary Colclough reported that crews had been grading and grooming multiple county roads, cleaning out a ditch using the skid steer and backhoe, repairing a tube and hauling larger rock, and hauling rock to address holes on several roads. 

Odie Cook Jr. started work that day and the commission signed his letter of hire. 

The commission was also told Quincy Tractor has not started on the tractor and mower work yet and is expected to split the tractor to tighten bolts. 

MoDOT is sending an additional bridge inspector to assist this week, and the current MoDOT bridge inspector inspected 28 or 29 bridges last week.

 MoDOT also requested proof of payment for Invoice #1 ($80,295.00 paid to Bleigh) in order to process Invoice #2.

In other business, Clerk Shannon Sapp submitted the January sales tax chart. 

Commissioner Redmon contacted Amy Crawford with MoDOT and requested that Purple Heart plaques be placed at each end of Highway 6 in Lewis County. 

The commission also worked on the agenda for the upcoming commissioner/clerk meeting and worked on drafting the RFQ advertisement for the annex building remodel.
