February 9th, 2026 – Lewis County Commission

*Key notes from the most recently approved February 9, 2026 Lewis County Commission meeting:

Road & Bridge Supervisor Drew Frese and Secretary Colclough reported on ongoing winter maintenance and bridge-related work. Commissioner Murphy signed two progress invoices tied to project BRO-R056(15):

Crews completed preventative tree cutting, replaced blades on the groomer, groomed multiple roads, and repaired a bridge rail where a section of wing wall railing had been torn off. The bridge inspector completed inspections of 24 bridges the prior week. 

The commission also noted that Commissioner Redmon will contact MoDOT about installing the county’s Purple Heart signs.

In other business, Clerk Shannon Sapp submitted the January court order, budget, election fee, and clerk fee reports. Recorder Parrish submitted her January report, and Deputy Sly provided the leave balance report and issued hand checks for witness claims. 

The sheriff’s office reported hiring Delaney Sanson as a full-time jailer at a starting wage of $17.50. 

The meeting adjourned with plans to reconvene on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
