Hard Charging Action at Quincy Raceways


Quincy, IL — The weather has suddenly improved for Quincy Raceways. Two weeks of racing are in the books for July. With 67 entries for the night, Quincy has seen its car count grow from the start of the season and remain steady.

The Late Model Dash would close out the heat races as Keokuk’s Tommy Elston would pick up the win in 6 laps, charging from fourth to get the win.

The DirtCar Street Stocks would open the features with a 15-lap race. Jacob Rexing would pick up his fifth feature win in Quincy. Canton’s Brandon Boden would find his way from third to second in the #99. LaGrange’s Richard Wagy would finish in third to round out the top three.

The IMCA NorthernSports Mods would take to the track for 18 laps. This saw #73X Tanner Klingele charge from seventh to take the lead and hold it en route to victory lane. The 2W of Reed Wolfmeyer would make a charge as well, coming from eighth to finish second for the Liberty native. Canton’s Adam Birck would also charge, as he came from 10th place to pick up a third-place finish in Quincy.

The DirtCar 4-Cylinders would see Dylan Bonk once again find a dominant victory at the Bullring. Holding the lead in all 15 laps. Farmington, MO’s Austin Harris would climb from 10th to finish in second in the #27. Kenny Butterfield of Kingston Mines, IL would take the #24 and nab a third-place finish.

The IMCA Late Models would take to the track for 25 laps. Austin Becerra, who started in 12th, would climb and, with six laps remaining, take the lead and never relinquish it for a trip to victory lane in the #22. The #79 of Jake Griffin would take the second-place finish, climbing up from 8th. The #32 of Jeffery DeLonjay would find himself finishing third, his highest finish in the class at Quincy.

The DirtCar Modifieds would see 20 laps, as Rick Conoyer would find victory lane, taking hardware back to Wentzville. Chris Spalding in the #29 would drop the pole spot but still find a second-place finish. Rounding it out was Dave Wietholder, as the Liberty native would take third on Sunday.

The Crown Vics close out the night. As Jeffery DeLonjay would add to the night, picking up the win and heading to victory lane. Braxton Dieker in the #005 would find second place, and Alex Hatfield would round out in third place.

The Quincy Raceways will be back in action on Sunday with their weekly races, featuring 305 sprints and a Vintage class for extra action. Two drivers would practice their sprint cars after the night ended to entertain the fans, and the night would wrap up with that added excitement.
