January 26th, 2026 – Lewis County Commission
MONTICELLO, MO – January 26, 2026
The Commission met pursuant to order of adjournment on January 20, 2026, with Presiding Commissioner Wayne Murphy Jr., and Associate Commissioners Travis Fleer and Craig Redmon were present. When and where the following proceedings were had to wit: Commissioner Murphy called the meeting to order:
Minutes: Commissioner Redmon made a motion to approve minutes for January 20, 2026. Commissioner Fleer seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed but was absent. Approved 3-0.
Payroll: Commissioner Murphy motioned to approve the payment of warrants #203761-203763 from General fund, warrants #203764-203768 from Road & Bridge fund, warrants #203769 from Assessment fund, and warrant #203770 from LEOF. Commissioner Redmon seconded; Commissioner Fleer agreed. Approved 3-0.
Payroll: Commissioner Murphy motioned to approve the payment by EFTP of warrants #4588- 4605 from General fund, warrants #4606-4607 from Road & Bridge fund, warrants #4608-4609 from Assessment fund, and warrant #4610-4625 from LEOF fund. Commissioner Redmon seconded; Commissioner Fleer agreed. Approved 3-0.
Bills: Commissioner Fleer motioned to approve the payments of warrants #33251-33266 from General Revenue, warrants #22930-22937 from Road & Bridge, warrants #6051-6054 from Assessment, warrants # from L.E.O.F, and warrants # from Co Farm. Commissioner Redmon seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed. Approved 3-0.
Road & Bridge: Road and Bridge Supervisor Drew Frese and Secretary Colclough were present.
Hauled rock #424 on corner and 532
Worked on bridge rails #232, 217, 326 they were broken or bent
Put chains on the 2017 grader
Josh Crandell started grading
The bridge inspector started and will take 3-4 weeks to finish
Other Business: Scott Miller with Heartland Recovery Program was in to ask the commission about getting opioid money- the commission told him to contact Sheriff Parrish or Prosecutor Fellinger because they are in control of the fund
Discussed dates and where to have the commission / clerk meeting in April- Lewis County is the host
The commission authorized putting a ballot question for common road district #1 levy renewal- Ballot question is shall the Common Road District #1 of Lewis County continue the present additional tax levy of 21 cents per one hundred dollars valuation for a period of four (4) years per Article 10, Sec 12A of the Constitution of Missouri
Adjourn: Motion to adjourn to Monday, February 2, 2026, by Commissioner Redmon. Commissioner Fleer seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed, Approved 3-0.
