July 22nd 2024 – Lewis County Commission

July 22, 2024 

The Commission met pursuant to order of adjournment on July 15, 2024, with Presiding Commissioner Wayne Murphy Jr., Associate Commissioners Travis Fleer, and Deanne Whiston present. When and where the following proceedings were had to wit: Commissioner Murphy called the meeting to order: 

Minutes: Commissioner Murphy made a motion to approve minutes for July 15, 2024. Commissioner Fleer agreed. Approved 2-0. 

Payroll: Commissioner Whiston made a motion to approve timecards from July 7th- 20th, Commissioner Fleer seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed. Approved 3-0. 

Bills: Commissioner Whiston motioned to approve the payments of warrants #32100-32118 from General Revenue, warrants #22285-22294 from Road & Bridge, warrants #5799-5803 from the Assessment, warrants #21013-21026 from L.E.O.F, and warrants #from Co Farm. Commissioner Fleer seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed. Approved 3-0. 

Road & Bridge: Road and Bridge Supervisor Larry Janes and Secretary Colclough were present. 

Howe project update report 4th quarter 

Commission signed Sean Blickhan’s letter of hire 

Hauled county rock 

Bladed # 521, 523, 562, 517, 564, 264, 291, 282, 444, 383, 374, 439, 359, 394, 395, 399, 397, 392, 393, 379, 382, 303, 302 washouts were fixed as they went 

Mowed #453 & 456 

Pin came out of the tractor boom and a new pin was put in 

New tube #455 and also straightened ditch to help with water flow 

#455 spot rock 

Opened end of tube #318 

Commissioner Murphy signed the participation request for MO Dept of Conservation CART rock program for their fiscal year 2025- Secretary Colclough emailed the MOC 

Other Business: Clerk Sapp signed the commission and herself up for the commission/ clerk meeting in September 

Commissioner Fleer told Commissioners Murphy & Whiston he talked to Collector Lay and she said she would pay for the painting out of her Tax Maintenance Fund 

Tiffany with Gallagher called and told the commission Linda Whan’s insurance bill was correct 

Commission informed Clerk Sapp county employees should not be paid by county to work at the fair 

Adjourn: Motion to adjourn to Monday, July 29, 2024, by Commissioner Fleer, Commissioner Murphy seconded; Commissioner Whiston agreed, passed 3-0.
