July 8th 2024 – Lewis County Commission
July 8, 2024
The Commission met pursuant to order of adjournment on July 1, 2024, with Presiding Commissioner Wayne Murphy Jr. and Associate Commissioner Travis Fleer were present. When and where the following proceedings were had to wit: Commissioner Murphy called the meeting to order:
Minutes: Commissioner Fleer made a motion to approve minutes for July 1, 2024. Commissioner Whiston agreed. Approved 2-0.
Payroll: Commissioner Fleer made a motion to approve timecards from June 23rd- July 6th, Commissioner Murphy agreed. Approved 2-0.
Bills: Commissioner Fleer motioned to approve the payments of warrants #32073-32088 from General Revenue, warrants #22268-22274 from Road & Bridge, warrants #5792-5795 from the Assessment, warrants #21005-21009 from L.E.O.F, and warrants #1149 from Co Farm. Commissioner Murphy agreed. Approved 2-0.
Road & Bridge: Road and Bridge Supervisor Larry Janes and Secretary Colclough were present. Supervisor Janes purchased a weed eater and leaf blower combo
Supervisor Janes received an application and will set up an interview
Hauled county rock
Laid a tube for Lewistown Tire
#201 driveway tubes put in
Bladed- #490, 464, 403, 428, 456, 421
Roy mowed- #479, 471, 425
Fixed washed out tube on #455
2 trees down on #425- Roy did as a call out Sunday
Worked on the old nursing home driveway- there were soft spots
Other Business: Ralph Martin with IDA was in to update the commission on the port- Ralph said they won the grant but have to wait for the cultural resources, historic data, flood plain, wetlands, and the engineering is at 30%- they put in an application to start drawing the funds- they have purchased 100 acres and 25 were donated- they were told this process could take up to 2 years and November will be a year- they have people in line and ready to start- he also mentioned the phoenix project- they are about to cut from 7 to 4 and asked for more information so Ralph feels confident that they will be moving forward
Judge Moon was in to discuss the records in the commissions office and the vault- the vault does not lock and the records around the room need to be secure so he has asked if no one be allowed in the room except the commission- Commissioner Murphy suggested Judge Moon or Circuit Clerk George call Martin Lock to get the vault door locking or look for a more secure place to put the records that are around the room
Clerk Sapp submitted the June court order report
The commission started the discussion of changing the insurance reimbursement from only deductible to include out of pocket
Treasurer Roberson wrote public agency checks #3667-3678
Adjourn: Motion to adjourn to Monday, July 15, 2024, by Commissioner Murphy, Commissioner Whiston seconded; Commissioner Fleer agreed, passed 3-0.
