March 18, 2024
The Commission met pursuant to order of adjournment on March 11, 2024, with Presiding Commissioner Wayne Murphy Jr., Associate Commissioners Travis Fleer, and Deanne Whiston present. When and where the following proceedings were had to wit: Commissioner Murphy called the meeting to order:
Minutes: Commissioner Whiston made a motion to approve minutes for March 11, 2024. Commissioner Murphy seconded; Commissioner Fleer agreed. Approved 3-0.
Payroll: Commissioner Whiston made a motion to approve timecards from March 3rd- March 16th, Commissioner Murphy seconded; Commissioner Fleer agreed. Approved 3-0.
Bills: Commissioner Whiston motioned to approve the payments of warrants #31832-31846 from General Revenue, warrants #22138-22140 from Road & Bridge, warrants # from the Assessment, warrants #20897-20898 from L.E.O.F, and warrants #from Co Farm. Commissioner Murphy seconded; Commissioner Fleer agreed. Approved 3-0.
Road & Bridge: Road and Bridge Supervisor Larry Janes and Secretary Colclough were present. Bladed roads #382, 232, 217, 218, 326, 367, 391, 393, 216, 222, 215, 226, 211, 204, 213, 205, 224, 201, 202

Bids for fuel will be put in the paper for opening April 1st at 10
The cemetery rock request will be put in the paper
10:15 the commission went to check road #283 to see about dumpsters being close/ in the roadway
Other Business:
Ralph Martin submitted the IDA board minutes
Commissioner Murphy made a motion to reappoint Jeff Janney, Randall Sharpe, and Robert Reed Miller to another 6-year term as board of directors to the Industrial Development Authority and the Port Authority of Lewis County
The Village of Monticello sent notice of a public hearing in which they would like the commission to support or their opposition of closing two different alleys where the county is a property owner adjacent to one of the alleys
Devon McClain gave Clerk Sapp a quote on adding a firewall to the courthouse/ clerk’s office- the Secretary of State did a cyber security evaluation, and the firewall was recommended – the commission asked that Devon come in and explain the firewall to them
Karen at the bank talked to treasurer Roberson and said it would be easiest to sign the letter every six months to keep the Grant account open with no charge
The commission discussed landscaping- what they were envisioning and when to bid it out
Treasurer Roberson wrote check #2670 from the LERF account to General Revenue#111-000- 750604 for $ 15,000.00 for the Pros Atty Clk Contract line item
Adjourn: Motion to adjourn to Monday, March 28, 2024, by Commissioner Fleer, Commissioner Whiston seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed, passed 3-0.
