Tigers Swat Down the Eagles in Mercy Rule


April 14th saw the Knox County Eagles take on the Canton Tigers in the Cotton Bowl Field. The Tigers would put on an impressive showing as they beat the Eagles 12-2 in 6 innings.

#2 Bleu Taylor would be the starting pitcher as he would go 5.2 innings pitched throwing 79 pitches and only allowing the 2 runs of the game. In the 5th Drew Gottman would come out to close it up throwing one pitch to get the last out and send the Tigers to the bats to win by mercy rule.

The Knox County Eagles would see 3 different pitchers take the mound as it would be #22 Charlie Layman who will get the loss mark as he allowed the go ahead run in the 4th. #23 Cooper Clair would start the game, #20 Carrsen Hayes would close the game allowing the mercy rule run.

Canton Tigers bats would see #4 Jayden Shuman being the winning run. The Tigers would record eleven hits on the day and the field saw one error.

The Eagles bats would see only one hit and one error on the day.

The Tigers improve their record to 6-2 while the Eagles fall to 2-9. Knox County will return home to take on the Fayette Falcons on April 15th. Meanwhile the Canton Tigers will go on the road against the Clopton Hawks on April 15th.
