The meeting was called to order by Mayor Dean Wagy at 7:00 pm.
Aldermen in attendance were Cliff Wade, Simon Thrower, Jeff Ray and Brandon Beasley. Sewer clerk Shirley Robertson and City Clerk Susie Wood were in attendance.
Guests: None
Agenda: The agenda was approved with corrections to add Equipment Repair and Snow Removal Bids. Cliff made the motion to accept the Agenda with corrections, Simon seconded. Motion carried.
Minutes for September meeting were approved. Brandon made the motion to accept, Jeff seconded. Motion carried.
City bills for September were approved. Cliff made the motion to accept and Simon seconded. Motion carried.
Sewer bills for Sept were approved. Brandon made the motion to accept and Jeff seconded. Motion carried
Old Business:
Pickleball Court- Green Construction has offered a settlement of $2,500.00. The board voted to accept this offer, Cliff made the motion to accept, Brandon seconded. Motion carried. We will reply to Dennis Smith.
Security System: Aaron came to work on the security system. The battery backup had died and needed to be replaced
Sparks Fence repair: The fence has been repaired and there have been no complaints.
# 15 Lakeview Drive: The road needs repairs, checking into what needs done.
Signs: Dean spoke to Amy Hustead, she will make the new signs.
Brandon Inlow: Simon reported that the property has been cleaned up.
2026 Elections: We will receive a packet with all needed info.
Fire extinguishers: one in office and one in kitchen is needed. Susie will check into this.
Speed Bumps: Have not had a reply from Dennis Smith about liability. There have been two speed bumps stolen, they were pried up and taken. It was discussed replacing in the spring, but tabled to see response from Dennis Smith.
Christman Decorations: Susie and Shirley are going to check the old decorations, see if we can update them. They are pretty expensive, average cost is $ 400.00 to $ 500.00 each. We will check prices after Christmas, see if any are on sale. It was also discussed talking to the Ag department at HHS. See if they want to take the old decorations and repair and update them for a community project.
Memorials: Loretta Toliver has asked about options for a memorial for Alan. The gun club would like to put a new bench in the park for Alan. Susie sent message to Linda Lueckenhoff to see if she has any other books to choose from. Linda has been out of town; Susie will check with her.
Spray field: There was a leak. It ran for 2 hours at 500 gallon/hour. Dean caught it and has repaired the leak. It was decided to purchase another 10 sprayer sets so we can have them on hand when one breaks. There are also 6 trees that need to be cut down.
Sewer Pumps: All is going well. The Rt C pump is the oldest one in the system, so far, it’s working well, but keep in mind may need replacing.
New Business:
Streets: The tube on Rt C and Clow Street needs replaced. It has collapsed and needs a new tube. We will contact MoDOT and ask for repairs.
New Equipment: – City needs to purchase a pull behind sprayer. Cliff made the motion to purchase a new pull behind sprayer, Jeff seconded. Motion carried.
Snow Removal: We need get bids for snow removal for this winter; Susie will put ad in paper for bids. Cliff made the motion to get bids for snow removal, Simon seconded. Motion carried.
November meeting: Brandon has a conflict with the meeting in November being on the 11th. He will be out of town. It was decided to change the November meeting to Monday, November 10th at 6:00 pm.
With no further business, Cliff made a motion to adjourn, Brandon seconded. Motion carried.
