Mayor McKenzie called the meeting to order with Aldermen Lay, Huebotter, Geisendorfer and Sharpe, Treasurer Lori Washburn, Troy TenEyck and Clerk Shirley Hetzler in attendance.


Motion to approve the Treasurer’s report was made and seconded by Aldermen Sharpe and Lay respectively. Motion carried.

Motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as printed and distributed was made and seconded by Aldermen Huebotter and Lay respectively. Motion carried.

Complaints have been received on the trash left roadside for bulky pickup at the former Megan Scott residence. Because of miscommunication through the hauler and pre-payment by the resident, the hauler is to be removing the trash shortly.

Repairs to the shelter house were briefly discussed. Mayor McKenzie will make the necessary contact for moving the project forward.

The Council was reminded of an upcoming court date January 8 th for nuisance violation.

Troy TenEyck reported that a MoDOT representative had contacted him but still has no guidelines on replacement/repair of tubes on Highway 6 in City limits.

Providing for on-line payments was briefly discussed. Troy TenEyck was asked to make a notation on the next water bill to get public feedback on this possible service.

The Clerk advised of the candidate filings for the April 2 election. Pursuant to Section 115.124 RSMo, the City will forgo this election as the number of candidates filing are equal to the number of positions to be filled. The notice to forgo election will be published as required by law.

Upon recent complaints and examination of the property at or near 205 E. Canton Street by Council members, the Clerk was directed to begin the enforcement process for apparent violations of the junkyard and nuisance ordinances (multiple derelict vehicles, mobile home scrap). The first notice will be sent to Larry Lay, to include copies of the junkyard and nuisance ordinances.

The Treasurer was asked to contact the City’s auditor for scheduling of an exit audit of the Collector’s records in preparation of the personnel change in May.

Being no further business to come before the meeting, motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Huebotter and seconded by Alderman Lay. Motion carried
