Cougars, Tigers Earn All-Star Honors Ahead of June 25 Game
Quincy, IL – The Illinois vs. Missouri All-Star Softball Game will feature the best of Northeast Missouri and West Central Illinois. The doubleheader is scheduled for June 25 at John Wood Community College in Quincy, with first pitches slated for 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Highland High School head coach Paul Scifres has been selected to lead the Missouri squad. He’ll bring along his coaching staff: Ron Richardson, Peggy Steinbeck, Darron Jarvis, and Amber Garner. They’ll be joined by Elsberry High School head coach Levi Jacyna.

Scifres and his staff led the Highland Cougars to the Class 2 state title in the fall of 2024, defeating the Mid-Buchanan Dragons 4–1. It marked Highland’s first state softball championship since 2005.
Joining Coach Scifres on the Missouri roster is Highland catcher Haleigh Winters. Winters finished her senior season with a .348 batting average, a .443 on-base percentage, 32 hits, 9 doubles, 9 home runs, and 38 RBIs. Behind the plate, she recorded 230 putouts and posted a .992 fielding percentage.
Three Canton Lady Tigers were also invited to play in the doubleheader: Macy Glasgow, Kadee Guilfoyle, and Allie Ruffcorn. Unfortunately, all three are unable to participate.
Glasgow batted .380 in 2024 with a .462 on-base percentage, 30 hits, 3 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run, 26 RBIs, and 23 runs scored. She posted a .870 fielding percentage with 37 putouts.
Guilfoyle pitched 70.1 innings and made 8 starts, finishing 3–3 with a 3.28 ERA. She struck out 96 batters while walking just 18. At the plate, she hit .377 with a .484 OBP, 29 hits, 4 doubles, 3 triples, 16 RBIs, and 13 runs scored. In the field, she had 50 putouts and a .932 fielding percentage.
Ruffcorn hit .365 with a .419 OBP, tallying 31 hits, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 9 RBIs, and 24 runs scored. She started 11 games in the circle, going 3–4 with a 5.18 ERA and 32 strikeouts. Her fielding percentage was .926 with 32 putouts.
