Culver-Stockton Soccer Travels to St. Louis for Missouri Baptist


The Wildcats Soccer squad take a trip down US-61 to meet future Heart opponents the Spartans of Missouri Baptist.

Women’s Win 2-1

Tyler Tomlinson’s Squad leaving no doubts in anyone’s mind as they continue to roll in the season. Beating the Spartans 2-1. With conference play around the corner the Wildcats have quiet a bit of momentum going with them into the Heart.

Halle Jennex would score the first goal unassisted in the 27th minute to send the Wildcats up at the half. However the Spartans would show why they are willing to compete in the Heart as they would tie it up at 56:42 as Gabbie Wood would put it in the back. However 20 minutes later the Halle Jennex would close the door on Missouri Baptist receiving an assist from Alayna Chandler-Gutierrez.

The Wildcats would get outshot by the Spartans 9-8 as Mackenzie Frizzell would be called upon to save 3.

The Wildcats will move to 5-0-1 as they return home to face against the Benedictine College Ravens Saturday September 14th in their conference opener before a 3 game road stretch.

Missouri Baptist goes 1-5 on the season. They’ll remain home as they welcome Mid-America Christian University on Monday September 16th

Men’s fall 5-2

Tyler Hamilton and his squad continue to fight through the season as they look for their first win. Rueben Reinertsen would strike first as they Wildcats go up. 1-0 however the Spartans would not let it get away as they would go to score 3 goals in the first half.

Come the second Rueben would strike again in the second followed by 2 from the Spartans to bring an end to the game. Ricardo Fischbach would be in net facing 10 shots on goal and saving 5. The Wildcats fall to 0-3-2 on the season returning home to face Benedictine on Saturday. Meanwhile the Spartans will move to 4-2 on the season as they will to travel to Palos Height, Illinois to face (RV) Trinity Christian College on Saturday.
