Highland Cougars, Wrestle at Hannibal Invitational
Hannibal, MO – The Highland Wrestling team headed down to Hannibal, MO, to partake in the Hannibal Wrestling Invitational Tournament. 8 Cougars would partake in the round robin tournament.
ALICIA EATON – 125 lbs
Alicia Eaton started the day by taking on Cecilla Correa of Bellville (East), securing a win in the third period due to injury. In her second bout, she suffered a technical fall loss to Brinley Morris of Moberly. Eaton would grab another win over Ashley Cax-Lopez of Lincoln College Prep, picking up the win by pinfall. Eaton would finish her day falling to Carolina Schultz of Hallsville by an 8-1 decision. Finishing up the day in 3rd place and acquired 7 points.
CLARISSA RECIO-GARCIA – 155 lbs
Clarissa Recio-Garcia participated in the 155 lbs class, as she would pick up her first career win by pinfall in period 1 against Alannah Anderson of Bellville (East). Clarissa would fall in her next bout by pin to Marissa Johnson of Pacific. In her last bout, she would fall to Jaylin Robinson of Belleville (East) by pin. Travis Wagy would fight through the 138-pound weight class. Wagy started the day taking on Grant Kossuth of Pacific, falling by pin. Bout two saw him take on Belleville (East)’s Greyson Early, falling by pin. In the next match, Wagy would pick up a pin win over Dylan Tarver of Kirksville. The next bout would see Wagy fall to Hannibal’s Drake Brinkley by pin. In his last match, Wagy would fall to Hannibal’s Briar Landrum by Pin. Finishing the day in 8th place and gaining a point.
KADEN CALDWELL – 144
Kaden Caldwell would compete in the 144 lbs weight class. Caldwell’s first bout would pit him against Kirksville’s Micah Gerdes, losing by pinfall.
